UA Vocab is a free reference for learners of Ukrainian. It answers one question well: which words should I learn, and how do I say them?
Every word page shows the stressed form, the part of speech, the learner level from a validated profile, the word's frequency rank, how much of running Ukrainian text it accounts for, open audio where it exists, and its meanings.
Who makes it
UA Vocab is edited by Jake Lawrence and published by jakelawrence.xyz. The data comes from the open Ukrainian Frequency study; The research maps every part of it. The name: "UA" is Ukraine's country code. (The old name, ukvocab, read as the United Kingdom, so we changed it.)
How pages are made
Word pages, level lists, the course map and the Anki decks are compiled automatically from the cited datasets on About the data. Guides are drafted with a language model and edited; every number in a guide is read from the data when the site is built, and a test fails if a number drifts.
